5.1 channel audio: record 5.1 channel audio over SPDIF Optical on the HD PVR 2 GE Plus and the HD PVR 2 model 1512; Personal Logo inserter. The Personal Logo inserter is part of Hauppauge Capture and can be found in the Settings tab. It only runs with the HD PVR 2 (all models) and Colossus 2. I've used both the HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition and the elgato Game Capture HD. While both have the pluses and minuses, I think the Hauppage is the better unit for most people. The elgato is very resource hungry so if you don't have a powerful computer it will bog down your system and create issues in the video.

Software

I just got the Hauppauge HD PVR 1212 and downloaded the HDPVRCapture program for mac. Works like a charm and couldn't be happier! Only problem is I can't find the right video converting software for that ideal video/audio.


I tried 'Smart Converter' from the App Store and it works video quality wise, but audio is below par and I'm too cautious about buying any other video converting software.

Then on top of that, dragging it to the trash from the application folder didn’t work and I had to use an uninstaller program. Once installed the extension kept videos from starting to play at all (default speed of zero didn’t help, but changed to 1 still didn’t function). Mac app playback speed control The documentation is awfully sparse.
